There were a lot of pleasant surprises in store during my recent (unplanned) trip to Milan, but one that really stood out for me was the trams.
Yep, that’s right – forget the Duomo, I fell head over heels for the city’s bright yellow vintage trams.
And as a result, I spent the rest of the day trying to get a half-decent photo of one.
Turned out the trams are elusive as they are beguiling.
…and skittish…
And prone to making you look like a clueless tourist…
Until… finally!
Hoorah!
In all honesty, while my shots look completely amateur and totally unappealing, I thought the trams were a nice touch in a city which is a hidden gemĀ with a real air of history.
A nice surprise.
You should visit Lisbon, there are so many beautiful yellow trams! Sadly, I couldn’t take a decent shot of one š This time though I am determined to do it!
They really did remind me of the photos I’ve seen of the ones in Lisbon. And I beg to differ – I love the shot you edited of the yellow tram on black and white.
I took a few shots but none that was truly…..satisfying for me, haha. I’m going to ride the famous 28 tram this time and I cannot wait. š
I look forward to seeing them! When are you heading back?
I almost got run over by the trams in Amsterdam. But I got almost run over by the BIKES in Amsterdam about 10000 times more!
Haha, it’s the same in Germany, but now I have a bike I get to do the running over… or at least very angrily ring my bell…
I didn’t know Milan had trams either – they look pretty good and surprisingly graffiti-free!
I know – I think they look really good!
